• Notes

  Married: Tumut Presbyterian Church was the first church in Tumut. Aslab building with a shingled roof and lighted by tallowcandles was erected in Herbert Street, opposite theresidence of Mrs Carr, snr. and a residence for theclergyman was built on the opposite side of the street. TheRev. Fitzgerald was the first clergyman appointed to theparish.The present church was completed in 1881, the Rev. Dandybeing the first clergyman to preach in it.
