  Married: BIGAMY CASE FROM BUNGENDOREMAN BOUND OVER''These cases give me more worry than anyothers,' said hisHonor, Judge Coyle, at the GoulburnQuarter Sessions lastweek, when considering the case ofHenry Charles AlfredBillington of Bungendore, who pleadedguilty to a charge ofbigamy at Bungendore on October 29,1931.Billington was charged with having on November 28,1929, atRockdale, married Esther Lilian Cairncross, andwhile somarried did, on October 29, 1931, at Bungendore,gothrough the form of marriage with Connie Delilah Smith,hiswife being then alive.In a statement to the judgeaccused said he was yery sorryfor what had occurred. Askedby his Honor if he had anychildren by his second wife, hereplied that he had onechild.Judge Coyle remarked that nomention was made of that inthe woman's letter, andBillington replied that the childwas only seven weeks old.In reply to another question, hesaid he was unemployed andwas obtaining food relief.'Apparently your second wife knewyou were married when shemarried you,' remarked hisHonor.Billington replied that be had been going with her,and hadmarried her for her sake.'These cases give me moreworry than any others,' said hisHonor, in consideringsentence. 'If I send you to gaol youwill be no good to yourfirst wife or her child or the otherwoman and her child. IfI send you to gaol you will be aburden on the State.'Inbinding Billington over in a bond of £100 to come upforsentence it called upon within three years. JudgeCoylesaid he wished accused to understand that he wasnotletting him off, but was trying to do the best thingforthe two women and their children. Captain P. V.
