  Notes	Jack was known as the "Super Coach" of NSW Rugby League. Born in Kiama, New South Wales Gibson's family relocated to Caringbah in his youth. He played third-grade rugby league at St. George in 1950 before joining a social side in the Eastern Suburbs A-grade competition called Taylor's Celebrity Club. He represented NSW in 1953 and went on to play 152 first grade games for Eastern Suburbs. He also played for Newtown in 1962 and Western Suburbs in 1963, 1964. Jack & his wife Judy moved to Cronulla in 1955 where they raised 6 children. He began his coaching career with Eastern Suburbs in 1967 and after a couple of years moved to St. George taking all three grades to the semi-final in 1971. In 1972 he coached Newtown then in 1973 went back to Eastern Suburbs. He coached Eastern Suburbs to premierships in 1974 & 1975, Moving to South Sydney (1978 & 1979) without success he then went to Parramatta. He coached the Parramatta Eels to three successive premierships in 1981, 1982 & 1983. In 1988 Gibson was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia "for service to rugby league as a coach". In 2000 he was awarded the Australian Sports Medal for being a five-time premiership winning coach. Jack died at Garrawarra Aged Care Dementia Centre at Waterfall.
