SAVED TWO GIRLS THEN LOST HIS LIFE
Picnic Tragedy COOMA. Monday.
After having saved two ladies from drowning, David JosephO'Rourke, Clerk to the Dalgely Shire, collapsed and wasdrowned in the Thredbo River yesterday afternoon.
O'Rourk, with a party from Berridale, proceeded to theCreek, on Kosciusko Road, and held a picnic. During theafternoon two ladies of the party were bathing in the rivernear the Creel House, when they got into difficulties.O'Rourke entered the river and brought them to safety, butthen he collapsed and was drowned.
